Last night I rented The Blind Side and was surprised to enjoy the movie as much as I did. For some reason I thought the movie was mostly about college football. But it was really about high school and good people who help others less fortunate than themselves. I like the fact the the main female character was portrayed as a strong, successful woman. It was so good that I might just buy this movie to keep it in my collection.

It is especially hard to see this photo of the Opryland Hotel flooded because just 2 weeks ago I was sitting right there, enjoying a glass of wine with some friends who were in town for a convention. And now it is under water and ruined. So sad.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid No comments yet
At Target I found a series of new books called Diary of a Wimpy Kid. There are 4 of them in the set so far. They look like a great way to get kids in the 3rd adn 4th grade to read books. I might just buy these for my nephew and give him the whole collection over a period of a year or so. You know, one for his birthday, and then the next one for Christmas, etc.
